The geology faculty at St. Lawrence University believe that field research and trips form an integral part of an undergraduate education. A hands-on education is critical in a field where “the best geologist is the one who has seen the most geology”. While many of our labs are experiential, and we have some great geologic sites in northern New York to visit, sometimes trips to farther afield places are needed to broaden the educational opportunities. Here are some of the field trips that our faculty and students have recently been on.
