As a result of the rich min

ing history of the North Country, the generosity of alumni and friends of the Department and the diligence of the faculty, the Geology Department owns an extensive collection of minerals. Some of these specimens are world-class examples and sister samples appear in international museum collections.

The Department is also privileged to be the repository for the majority of the Howard Moore Mineral collection, which is being incorporated into the department’s collection.
